Chateau Vanderbilt is a boater’s haven. Built in 1990 as one of the few condo associations in all of Vanderbilt that includes an assigned boat slip or boat space for every resident. There are 10 finger slips total with lifts allowed and 6 tie along boat spaces. Boater’s access the Gulf via Wiggins Pass some 30 minutes north with the 11’ foot Bluebill bridge to clear. It’s a wonderful ride that meanders through all of the bay’s waters in this area.
Chateau Vanderbilt consists of 2 low-rises with 16 units total. Just 8 units per building with 4 per floor. A gated community with 2 floors of residential in each building over open aired under building parking. Think of the two buildings as mirror images of one another.
The stacks read south to north which is left to right as you face the front. In the first building, Chateau Vanderbilt I, there are the 01, 02, 03 and 04 stacks and Building II the 05, 06, 07 & 08. The 3 bedrooms comprise the 01, 02 stacks in building I and the 07, & 08 in building II. The 2 bedrooms comprise the 03, 04, 05 & 06 stacks. Sorry, lots of numbers but it can help to know your stacks: building speak for location within. They range in size from just over 1150’ sq ft under air to just over 1400’ sq ft.
Chateau Vanderbilt shares the distinction of being only one of two condo associations in all the area to be located on the east side of the bay waters.* In turn, these units are filled with warmth and light for their rear exposures (where we all live on the gold coast) face west back toward the Gulf. Sunshine is yours the afternoon long capped off daily with the treasured sunset sky.
In turn, there is no shortage of afternoon sun on their shared bay side pool which flanks the west side of Chateau Vanderbilt I. Parking is an assigned space under their open aired buildings with guest parking and extra storage. Pets are allowed with board approval with 6 leases allowed per year with a 30 day minimum.
Located just a couple of blocks from Vanderbilt’s public beach access and Gulf Shore Drive’s fine eateries. Walk away from the Gulf east on Vanderbilt Beach Road and you discover many of “Uptowns” delights: the public tennis courts, library, shopping, dining, movie theatres, nightlife and more.
* The only other condo association on the east side of the bay is its neighbor, Vanderbilt Lagoon Villas.
